Residents of Orlando Florida may be interested to learn that a minivan and pool service pickup truck were involved in an accident in Seminole County on May 20. According to reports, the truck hit the minivan, causing a road in Seminole County to be closed. The driver of the truck went off the road, hitting a sign. He tried to get back on the road, over-corrected and then swerved into the path of the minivan in the oncoming lane. The accident took place near Lake Mills Road on County Road 419. The minivan and truck accident also led to three people being transported to the hospital.
For a short time after the accident took place, the driver of the truck was trapped inside the vehicle. From Merritt Island, both the driver of the minivan and a passenger were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center. The driver suffered serious injuries; however, the passenger was believed to be uninjured.
County Road 419 had to be shut down for several hours because the truck involved in the accident “was carrying chlorine and other pool chemicals” that spilled onto the road during the crash. The chemicals were removed from the road; however, the accident is under investigation, with charges pending.
